My 9 year old son wets the bed most nights, we have tried nasal spray which didn't work and the mat alarm which had a bell which was very loud and terrified him, can you recommend an alarm we could use with the pants and sensor.
There are a number of bell and pad alarms currently on the market – some of these allow you to use a recording (which can be your voice) instead of the alarm, which would be less traumatic for your son. Before going and purchasing one of these I would recommend that you speak with a continence advisor (if your GP is unable to refer you, you can contact the Continence Association of Australia – 1800 330 066, who will be able to recommend someone in your area) who will be able to discuss with you in more detail the pros and cons of each as well as looking for something that is more tailored to your individual needs. The success of alarm treatments depends to a large extent on the amount of support and guidance families receive from experienced professionals. So it is always wise to consult with someone first before commencing any form of treatment. All the best!
