Can wearing dry nites help or hinder a 8 year old boy with bed wetting.

If my son was wearing dry nites would he become lazy knowing his bed was dry??

Is it best to use them or not?

Dr Cathrine Answered:

Hi Vanessa, It is perfectly fine for your son to use DryNites, these will neither shorten nor prolong the bedwetting process and will certainly reduce the stress associated with waking-up in wet sheets and the extra washing that accompanies this. Nighttime wetting typically happens when children are asleep and are not in conscious control over their bladder, making it more difficult to train a child to become dry at night. If you have not already done so, I would recommend that you make an appointment with your GP to discuss ways you can help your son to become dry at night.

Regards,
Dr Cathrine
