Hi Doctor, my 8 year old son is still wetting his drynite every night. We have just purchased a Dri Sleeper bed alarm. Can you best advise me on a couple of things. Firstly, can i put the sensor inside a drynite for ease of middle of the night toilet runs

Dr Cathrine Answered:

Hi Lisa-Anne, it is a good idea to fit the DRI Sleeper alarm inside your son’s DryNites as it may take up to 2 to 3 weeks before he starts responding to the alarm – and winter is not the time you want to have to start changing sheets throughout the night! It is not unusual for children to wet a couple of times throughout the night so you should rinse off the alarm, re-set and re-insert into a fresh pair of DryNites after he has wet. If you have not already done so I would strongly recommend that you enlist the support of a continence nurse or advisor as the more support your receive at this time the greater the likelihood of a successful outcome.

Regards,
Dr Cathrine
