There are a number of treatments available to help children attain nighttime dryness – the suitability of these depends on each individual so it is best first to make an appointment with a continence specialist (or your GP) to discuss your child’s needs. It’s great that you have been able to rule out any underlying physical cause to her nighttime continence although I am concerned that she continues to wet her pants during the day. I wonder if this is a new occurrence or something that has been happening since she was toilet trained? I always recommend that parents follow-up with a GP if their child is over the age of 4 and experiences daytime wetting. Before seeing your doctor it will be helpful for you to keep a record of when she wets her pants, how often and how much. Is it just a small trickle of urine or does she completely empty her bladder? Is it occurring because she is holding on for too long and not making it to the toilet in time or is she unaware that she needs to go?
