Girls bedwetting (4-10 y) · Asked by M. B. 8 months ago

Dr Cathrine Answered:

Hi M. B. – given your daughter’s desire to move toward greater independence it would certainly be worthwhile making an appointment for her to see your GP in the not too distant future. While many children do outgrow bedwetting on their own, some children benefit from more formal intervention efforts. The fact that she continues to wet the bed each night suggests that she is not about to achieve nighttime continence on her own. Given the varied causes of bedwetting it is always important to seek medical advice first before embarking on any form of treatment program. In the meantime continue to reassure your daughter that you understand this is in no way her fault and that with time she will become dry at night.

Regards,
Dr Cathrine
