I have tried everything with her, i have put alarms 2 wake her up, i have put her to wash the clothes, she showers before going to school in the morning. She stopped weeing in the bed for about 3 months and a half when i told her she was going to get a smack. she would get out of bed herself. i thought she had stopped then oneday she weed again and her father didn't tell her anything now she thinks she can get away with it so she does it often. and she even wees in public and does not get embarrassed at all. she doen't even say she needs to go even if shes busting and the toilet is in front of her. I don't know what else to do?
Coping with children’s incontinence problems is incredibly challenging for most parents, so it is completely normal to feel frustrated and a little helpless. Given your daughter’s age I would strongly recommend that you make an appointment with your GP so that you can have her tested to see if there is an underlying medical problem causing both her nighttime and daytime incontinence. While it is highly unusual for older children to deliberately wet themselves during the day, purposeful wetting can sometimes be a sign of stress or emotional upheaval, in these cases I find it is often helpful to get a referral to a child psychologist who can work with both you and your daughter to help her to identify the cause. There are a number of treatments available for helping children to attain nighttime continence, ultimately a successful outcome is dependent on the amount of support and guidance you receive from a nurse continence advisor or other professional so it is essential that you do not try and treat her on your own. Speak with you doctor about being referred to someone who can help you throughout this process.

Dr Cathrine
