Dr Cathrine Answered:

it is perfectly normal for your daughter to be wetting the bed, with about 10% of children still doing so by age 7. While many of these children will eventually outgrow bedwetting on their own – I typically recommend that parents take their child to their GP once they have reached this age just to rule out any underlying medical cause. The decision of whether or not to pursue treatment is ultimately up to you and your daughter. If your daughter is embarrassed and is looking for help to stop, or it is disrupting family life – then it is time to seek treatment. Otherwise if it doesn’t seem to bother her and you are managing it fine then it is perfectly OK to just let things continue as they are – knowing that with time this will eventually stop!
