Double Deal

I have 5 children ages 18, 16, 13, 10, 5. My 10 year old has always wet the bed and still does (sometimes 3 times up to 3 times a week). However she has been able to go for 2 weeks without wetting once and i think, "Oh great, she is finally through this!" But then she starts again. I do not yell or make a big deal about it as I know this does not help and I try to reinforce positive ideas in her head like, "Soon you will wake up one day and not wet the bed any more." On days that she does not wet, I always tell her what a good girl she is and how clever she is.

On top of all this my 5 year old also wets the bed - but she only started to do this about the age of 3 and a half yrs. She was out of nappies and slept through the night and woke up dry from the age of about 2 and a half. Then all of a sudden she started bed wetting and still does sometimes 3 times a week and sometimes goes for a week dry.

I make sure they don't drink before they are going to bed at least 1 hour, and I always make sure they go to the toilet as well before bed. It is a very rare thing at my house not to be washing wet beds on a daily basis. None of my older children have ever done this.
