Hi Dustin, one of the many wonderful things about having a best friend is that we can share personal thoughts and feelings without the fear of being judged. Many teenagers decide not to tell their friends about their bedwetting because they fear that they will be teased. This can be a very sensitive issue but, if your friendship is close and you know that he is someone you can trust, then telling him would be a good option. If you don’t tell him, you may feel anxious and too preoccupied with how to hide your bedwetting to enjoy your weekend away. It is important that both you and your mate understand that your bedwetting is not your fault and therefore not something that you should be ashamed of or embarrassed about. You can show him the statistics presented on the DryNites website so that he understands how common bedwetting can be among older children and teenagers. If you do decide this is something that you would just rather keep to yourself then it is important that you talk to your parents about strategies you can use to help conceal your DryNites. Wearing underpants over the top is certainly one option; thinking about where you can dispose of them in the morning is also an important consideration. Many teenagers have attended school camps and sleepovers while wearing DryNites and have managed to do so without being discovered by their friends.
