Hi, I am a fifteen-years-old boy who started wetting the bed last year. Nowadays I wet 2-3 times per week at night so wear diapers to go to sleep, but the worst thing is that my parents don't know yet and I'm afraid of telling them. Do you think I should

I also sometimes poop a little my pants when I have stomachaches...

While I fully understand your embarrassment and fear, this is not something you should hide from your parents. I find most parents are incredibly supportive and would hate to think of you trying to manage your bedwetting on your own. The most important thing for you to remember is that this is in no way your fault. When it comes to treatment, the first thing we need to think about is what may have caused you to start wetting the bed. A return to bedwetting may result from emotional stress related to school exams or bullying – if this is the case, we generally find your bedwetting stops when whatever is causing you to be upset goes away or is dealt with. There are also a number of physical problems that may cause bedwetting – this can be as simple as a urinary tract infection or constipation, or something more serious like the onset of diabetes so it is very important that you speak with your parents and have them make an appointment for you to see your GP for a full medical assessment. DryNites are perfect for helping you to manage your bedwetting; they are discrete and can be worn under your pyjamas. The larger of the two sizes caters for teenagers ranging in weight from 27-57kg+. If you find the larger size to be too small I would recommend that you look into some of the incontinence products designed for adults – you can purchase these online or you could speak with someone from your local Chemist as they often sell them there.

Regards,
Dr Cathrine
