This must very challenging for you. In a very small percentage of cases bedwetting can extend right through to our adult years. The fact that you have a small bladder capacity would certainly be a contributing factor. While it may be a big ask for your bladder to store all the urine you produce overnight – you could perhaps work on trying to teach your body to wake in response to the signals produced by your full-bladder. Have you ever tried a conditioning alarm? These have quite a good success rate particularly amongst individuals who experience less frequent bedwetting. I’m not sure whether you are open to exploring alternate treatments – but if so, I know of people who have found hypnotherapy useful with respect to helping them wake throughout the night. Your best point of contact for hypnotherapy is the Australian Hypnotherapists’ Association http://www.ahahypnotherapy.org.au/, which has branches in each state. In terms of management, you may want to consider using some form of absorbent pant on those occasions when you know you are stressed or overtired, and therefore at greater risk of wetting the bed.
