School trips are a great part of school life. As cliché as it might sound, these are the parts of school you will look back on fondly, for years to come.
If you’re dreading the thought of a school camp because you’re worried about wetting the bed, you’re not alone. We have some tips to help you and the many, many teenagers like you.
BEDWETTING TACTICS FOR SCHOOL TRIPS
Just to get this out of the way right now, you probably need to speak to your teacher, school counsellor, or school trip chaperone. Once they know what’s going on, they will be your ally.
If you don’t feel comfortable bringing it up with someone from your school, ask a parent or relative to do it for you. They have had way more embarrassing conversations than this before and it’s kind of their job to ‘take one for the team’ sometimes.
Bedwetting pants for extra protection. Pull them on and wear them all night, safe in the knowledge that no one can tell they are there except you. A sealable plastic bag in with your things is a great way to zip them up in the morning, ready for the trash. Once again, a supervising adult will be on hand to help out. Maybe you’ll even have a signal or password so they can let you know the coast is clear.
Bed mats to slip over the mattress is a great way to cover your tracks without anyone knowing. Because a supervising adult knows about it, getting them on and off the bed while no one else is in the room will be a breeze. Speaking of breeze, you might also want to pack a small air freshening spray. Get one with a relaxing scent or essential oil. Job done.
