My 4 year old has been wearing DryNites for a few months, having outgrown the Junior NappyPants that we were using previously. Recently he's been leaking through them about 3 times a week, although he doesn't drink excessively close to bedtime and they seem to fit well. He's very tall and weighs 25kg - should we try the next size up or is there another solution that may work better? Thanks!

Dear A.M., Leakage can certainly result from improper fit which happens when children’s DryNites are too large or too small. Absorbency levels are the same for both sizes so the only reason to change would be if the small size were too small. It is important that the DryNites fit snuggly around her leg as improper fit can contribute to leakage. You could always request a sample off the website first to see how they fit. Children’s overnight urine output can be quite variable. You can try and reduce her urine output by making sure she fully empties her bladder just before she goes to sleep and encourage her to drink plenty of water throughout the day. If you were at all concerned about the amount of urine she is producing I would certainly recommend you consult with your GP. Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding; I have been unwell and unable to answer questions during this time. Kind Regards, Dr Cathrine
