Solution for Boys

TRY THESE SIMPLE AND SAFE TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Here are a few ideas and solutions for boys to help you through the bedwetting stage.

  • Keep DryNites® Pyjama Pants in a handy place such as your son’s underwear drawer
  • Make putting on his DryNite® Pyjama Pants a normal part of the bedtime ritual along with brushing teeth and a bedtime story
  • Have a special bin or plastic bag for the used pants the next morning
  • Maintain a good stock of DryNite® Pyjama Pants so you don’t ever run out

Aim to tackle bedwetting incidents with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency:

  • Keep fresh sheets and pyjamas at hand
  • Hang your dressing gown where you can find it easily when you’re half asleep
  • Install a low-wattage night light or lamp, or use a hands-free headlamp

Some children feel guilty for making extra work for Mum and Dad. Let him know that the ‘work’ is easy and just part of being a parent. Many kids pick up on parents’ emotions, so try to keep a lid on feelings of frustration.

BEDWETTING SOLUTIONS AWAY FROM HOME

Before your son heads off, give him some tips, such as not drinking before going to bed, going to the loo immediately before bed, and choosing the bottom bed of a bunk so he can get to the bathroom quicker.

  • Pack spare pyjamas just in case
  • Sleeping bag liners are easily changed at night and will help keep his sleeping bag dry
  • A vibrating alarm is great for waking him up – but not everyone else – to use the bathroom in the middle of the night
  • A good torch will help him confidently get to the bathroom without tripping or getting frightened by the dark
  • DryNites® Pyjama Pants are essential equipment for the intrepid young explorer adventuring away from home. He’ll find them easy to get on and off once he’s had a few practice runs at home beforehand.

Let him know that it’s perfectly ok to ask for help if he needs it from the mum or dad at his sleepover.
